The Kek Lok Si Temple is a Buddhist temple situated in Air Itam in Penang and is one of the best known temples on the island.The construction of the temple began in 1893 and was inspired by the chief monk of the Goddess of Mercy Temple at Pitt Street.
The two main ways to get to Kek Lok Si Temple are either private taxi, which costs about 25 MYR , or take the public bus for 2 MYR ($0.54) per person.
The temple is in Air Itam, 8km from the centre of George Town.
There are several other temples in this complex, as well as shops and a vegetarian restaurant .
The statue is a great monument and the views are pretty good.
The carving and the culture of the temple is so much fine detail.
