Maha Muni is the holiest pagoda of Mandalay and considered the second holiest place in Myanmar just after Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.

Women are not allowed to be near the "god" dude.
There are other parts of this temple that are well worth visiting and enjoying.
There are many people in the morning.
There's also a hall with a huge relief map of Asia showing the spread of Buddhism.

To get there, you would pass U Bein and cross the river on a new bridge.

There is a good market around the Pagoda.
You also need to pay 300 Kyat to use a camera.

There are so many other gemstones to see and carvings once you enter the thralls of people and stall owners.
You will see all kind of jade products there and even jade cutting places.
There is a nice local bar/cafe opposite the market .
