The Old British Consulate displays unique, old British colonial style architecture. It is now the most antique western building preserved in Taiwan which is also listed as the second-class historic spot.
Need to walk up lots of stairs as bus stop can reach hill top entrance
There are two ways to go up, the stairs go up to the temple (on the west) is a lot easier than the one going scenic walk (景觀步道) (on the east)
After a long walk about a number of stairs you are greeted by a brightly coloured temple next to the British Consulate.
It's a good place to watch the sunset.
There is a nice restaurant on site that serves delicious western cuisine and is a great way to spend an evening or afternoon.
There are several other attractions and viewpoints immediately adjacent to this site.
The residence building constructed in red bricks is very eye-catching and thus has become popular background for photo-taking.
Recommended if you love history, architecture, great scenic view and British style.
