Visitors to the People's Republic of China must obtain a visa from one of the Chinese diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.

Citizens holding passports issued by the following nations are not required to obtain a visa to travel to China on a trip as long as it lasts no more than the visa waiver limit as listed below:

  • Visa-free (15 days): Brunei, Japan, Singapore
  • Visa-free (30 days): Bahamas, Mauritius, Seychelles
  • Visa-free (90 days): San Marino

    This station was rebuilt and opened to use on December 28th, 1999. It has south and north ticket halls, five ordinary waiting rooms, one soft seats waiting room and seven platforms. The station is mainly supported by the Hu-Kun (Shanghai-Kunming) Railway and the Xuan-Hang (Xuancheng-Hangzhou) Railway. Here, trains connect Hangzhou with over 30 major cities in China, including bullet ones to Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Fuzhou, Nanchang, Xiamen, Ningbo, Jinhua, Wenzhou, Yiwu, Cangnan and Quzhou. At present, there are about 105 scheduled trains stopping here daily.

    Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) serves domestic and international flights. There are frequent services to Beijing and Hong Kong, but using Shanghai's domestic Hongqiao or the international Pudong airports and connecting by bus or train is also a viable option. The only European destination is Amsterdam, through KLM. Asian cities that have service to Hangzhou include Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Osaka, Bangkok, Seoul, and Singapore. Flights from Kuala Lumpur can be obtained from AirAsia. The service to Bangkok is through Hainan Airlines. There is a direct service to Hangzhou from Singapore on Jetstar Asia.
