If you prefer dining alfresco in a refreshing atmosphere, G-Walk is your perfect place. Here you can stay outdoors, witness a different side of the city of Surabaya while enjoying the taste of sumptuous local specialties. Most tourists go crazy about ‘TerangBuland’ – the crispy sweet pancakes of Indonesia, and "TahuTelur” – tofu omelets (make sure you’d try these two dishes ^^). Or if you’re a big fan of Asian cuisine, you’ll never be let down.

With decent food and comfy ambiance, G-Walk is a wonderful place to spend time with your family on holiday.

House of Sampoerna

As the home of one of Indonesia’s most famous kretek cigarette factories, House of Sampoerna has become a popularattraction for tourists in Surabaya.

The building is a wonderful 19th-century Dutch structure, originally an orphanage but later converted into a theatre. The former lobby is now the museum containingexhibits on the use of cloves, the history of kretek in Indonesia, along with uniforms and drums of the Sampoerna marching band. There's also an incredible collection of cigarette lighters, holders, and cases, mainly from Europe while some from Ming dynasty, as well as a vintage Heidelberg printing press.

Going upstairs, you’ll have a bird’s-eye view of the factory’s work floor, where hundreds of women hand-roll, trim and pack cigarettes at an amazing speed, with their fingers blurring in motion. The fastest rollers here can produce about 4000 cigarettes a day.

On the east side of the house, you can also find a nice cafe and an art gallery.
With its historical and cultural values,House of Sampoerna is definitelywell worth your visit.

The more I go, the more I fall in love with this incredible continent. It has a unique beauty and distinctive culture that never fully explored. This’s why there are many countries I still keep coming back over and over again. I’m here to share with you my fun, sad or even scared memory on my backpacking trails. Hope it works on you!
