We went to that hotel specifically for a one-day trip of relax at the hotsprings. The spa wasn't really a big deal: maybe I am too spoiled with excellent spas with almost hundreds of different hotspring tubs in Italy. Here they have spas separate for women and men (typical of Japanese culture) with only 3 tubs each. They also have jets and jacuzzi directly in the stone tubs, very nice. Me and my husband booked a private room, they call it family room, to relax together, and just before going to the appointment for the room I was exiting from one of the hotspring tubs and unfortunately (being without slippers for the Japanese culture) I fell on the rocks' pavement and hurt my knee. I went straight to the font desk / lobby of the spa asking for help and ice. The language barrier is a huge issue in Japan, especially when they try to find the words and they freeze. They gave me a bandaid, but I kept asking for ice and they did not know the meaning of the word ice in such a touristic site. Finally, I had to point a pitcher of water with ice cubes that was on the countertop to make them understand what I was asking for. Not very good experience over all, not satisfied with the hotspring and with the service.
