Why Yokohama Daihanten is special ?

Daihanten, in Yokohama's Chinatown, is one of the most famous shops the area. The restaurant is extremely clean, the staff mostly courteous, and the store manager incredibly pleasant to deal with. The menus are very easy to order from, with clear pictures and easy to point to numbers for those who don't read/speak Japanese. They offer course-style dining, but you can go for the 4,000 yen/person all-you-can-eat-lunch special.

Came here on New Year's Eve when the restaurant was very busy. We had the 'all you can eat' where the price is set but the system was that you order something each time you want it. It means that the food comes to you generally freshly cooked. Good selection of standard dishes that you can find in most such restaurants and also nice desserts though they are tiny. Staff were a mixed bag - one of the waitresses was a bit abrasive but others were friendly. For adults the cost was about 3000 yen and it was half price for kids. I'd recommend this place and I would definitely go again.
