Why Ya Nui Beach is special ?

Ya Nui lies in the shadow of two of Phuket's loveliest viewpoints; Phrom Thep and the viewpoint featuring large white windmill/propeller power generators.

It's a charming little cove featuring good snorkeling, kayaking and fishing. During high season there is a line of sun loungers for hire (200 baht a set) as well as a stand that rents out masks, fins, kayaks and body boards for very reasonable prices.

What to explore at Ya Nui Beach?

You can hire snorkeling gear on the beach itself. The northern part of this compact (300 metre) beach is good for swimming and body boarding but is a little rocky towards its southern end.

You can hire a set of sun loungers for 200 baht in high season and beachgoers often lunch or dine at a local bamboo restaurant in the car park. Across the road at the bungalow complex there are toilets available. Ya Nui is fairly busy in high season so ambulant vendors frequent it, selling merchandise such as textiles, toys, freshly cut fruit and souvenir.

Ya nui is great for snorkeling lots of fish and sealife. Calm waters and plenty of shade under umbrellas if u rent a sun lounge & it's a bit cooler as the beach is lined with trees. Snorkels and fins can ales b rented 4 a reasonable price. Most ppl rent scooters and drive down as it's about half hour sth of kata beach but for around $50aud a taxi will take u there and wait for you.

Ya Nui is at the very southwestern tip of Phuket, just before the lighthouse. it is a small beach with the usual beach chairs to rent. Also can rent kayak and snorkel gear. No motorized activities! A few fish and a tiny bit of coral. Good place for beginners to snorkel. Excellent food on the beach from nearby. Restaurant .

Ya Nui Beach is south of Patong and is much less commercial. It is not a particularly large beach, but it is clean and not very crowded. We were staying in Rawai and Ya Nui was our local beach of choice. It was only a short "scoot" (we rented scooters for about $6 AUD per day).We did not eat or drink at the beach restaurant. There are plenty of nice restaurants near by -- we frequented "Thai Lagoon" when we went to Ya Nui -- however there were many people eating who seemed satisfied with their meals and drinks.
