Tips for you

  • Bare in mind Jalan Alor is a very crowded and busy place during dinner, so visit here early is better.
  • You will be eating outside at the side of the busy, bustling and often noisy Jalan Alor but that just adds to the ambience, flavour and magic.
  • Parking might be a little hard to find but you can always park inside one of those buildings nearby.

Pretty good food at WAW, noodles and rice were tasty although the fabled chicken wings were a little dry and could have done with some sauce. Fried greens were delicious, as were the ribs. Surroundings are pretty basic as per the restaurants on JA, service effective but brusque, metal canteen tables and plastic plates. Specific beer brand fairly unsubtly pushed at us in preference to what we actually asked for. A good place to fill up, just don't expect sophistication - but then you wouldn't in this neck of the woods. (If you walk up JA to the north after dinner - see if you can try to find the ice cream stall opposite the coconut ice shop where they make ice cream "scrolls" on the spot on a metal plate for about 6 rm - very tasty.)
