Why Wat Mixay is special ?
For people interested in Temples and Buddha sculptures this temple has to be on your list when you visit Vientianne.
Vat Mixai, also written Wat Mixay, is one of the many Buddhist temples along Setthathilath Road in Vientiane, Laos. It is located to the east of Vat Inpeng, Vat Ong Teu and Vat Haysoke, and to the west of Wat Si Saket, Vat Kao Kyot and Vat Si Meuang.
It is very nice to see the elder temple construction and the roof is typically Laotian style , for not experienced asian travellers , the roofs of temples and houses in all the Asean countries are all different when you really watch to the special typical points and each culture has got his influence on the roof construction

Wat Mixay was very near our hotel and even closer to the night market. I was eating lunch at Aria and I keep a check off list of places to see and do. What Mixay was next on the list and I noticed I was eating right in front of it. It's a gorgeous location. The way is not the nicest but it's full of shade. I'm a teacher and apparently there is a school there. I came a little closer and noticed there wasn't any teachers. I thought perhaps they were on break. The kids were cute and well behaved nonetheless and so energetic and most importantly friendly. That was the highlight of this place.
sacred temples in Laos. there are so many guests coming to visit for the day. It has the obligation at the wrist, very interesting and meaningful, you should try. the people here very seriously this temple, you can come to pray and child health.
In centre of Vientiane with monks going about daily activities. Quite attractive but nothing special
