Why Van Hoa Park is special ?
Cong Vien Van Hoa Park is a great starting point for a good morning and the meaningful activities of your family on the weekend. It is also the ideal place to spend a lot of activities for kids.
One of the best spots in town for people watching, Cong Vien Van Hoa or 'Cultural Park' is where the masses of Ho Chi Minh unwind before, after, and during a long day. Whether it is unfathomably nimble geriatrics playing badminton, tennis and ping-pong or the weightlifting youths that catch your eye, you will not struggle to locate points of interest.
Originally created as a recreational space for the French elite, the park is now open to everyday Saigonese. Centrally located just a stones throw from Reunification Palace and in the heart of District 1, Cong Vien Van Hoa is always comfortingly busy. Beware though, being one of the few city centre spots to find shade from the Saigon sun, finding a bench can sometimes be difficult.
What to explore at Van Hoa Park?
Go early morning to see the park full of badminton enthusiasts, or early evening for the biggest open-air no-fee aerobics class you'll ever witness.
The park is also home to a modest sculpture garden that features several pieces of art.
In the evening people are known to dance, couples dancing. It is covered with tall tree and well maintained landscape. There are benches which you can relax on a hot day, you will see people just strolling and at ease.

Tips for you
My friend and I grabbed some lunch and sat in the park on our final day killing a few hours in the sun before our flight home. We are really approachable guys and love to interact with the locals, saying Hello and Good morning to anyone and everyone. The response from the Vietnamese locals was mind blowing. Within 10 minutes we were surrounded by students from a local university who were all studying English. I found myself giving an English lesson for three hours to the students. It was an awesome experience, something I will never forget. One of the best moments during my month tour of Asia. I have to add that the Cambodian, Thailand and Laos people are just as nice and we had excellent interaction with them. Sensational
