Tips for you
If you wanna taste one of the best atmosphere in town, you have to come here. I arrived on the "Don't Panic"'s performance and it was so great that I started with that series of thoughts that make you understand why, in the end, life can be so beautiful... This band is not only playing, this band is showing people the whole love they have for their music! That's son amazing! The boss of the club is playing guitar and singing in the band and you can read the happiness he's feeling inside as much as that of the rest of the guys. I'm absolutely in love with that! A real place with real people who really want to enjoy life. You can go there alone, get a beer, stand at the bar, talk to people like you were always great friends, dance with your eyes closed in front of the bands like you were the only human being on Earth or scream about loud all the energy and life you feel flowing in your veins. Absolutely the place to be.
Small but really good live music venue. Different bands on the whole time. Acoustic nights and local bands make a change from the usual Wanchai cover bands.
even I stay in hk for one day, the stop over into "the wach" is alway a pleasure.Excellent live music every day !!!!
Hong Kong can be a lonely town for the newly arrived, but if you have a musical bent the Wanch bar on Jaffe Road in Wanchai is a great place to get yourself into the local music scene. The Wanch is famous for it's local expat talent and there has been some great bands put together over the years from the monthly Jam Session. These have included PNS, Splash it About, AWOL the Sisters of Sharon to name a few. The local press covers an extensive whats on but if you can play or sing and fancy a go, head off for the jam night and put your name down. The place is tiny, but the San Mig is chilled and the atmosphere is steamy. Great place to people watch and listen to a very eclectic collection of musical styles.
Don't miss this place, no matter how long your stay in Hong Kong. Great live music and very friendly staff. It's small but cosy.
