Why The balcony by Lanith is special ?

The chef, Pit Wanderschied, who has vast experience working in Michelin starred restaurants in Europe, creates mouth watering fine dining Laos-French fusion dishes whilst training Laos staff to the highest standards. Everything is locally sourced with the freshest ingredients being used daily. The menu is varied and the wine/spirit list is extensive - it even caters for us Aussie beer drinkers.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with simple, yet creative touches like blue glasses, blue lighting at the bar and blue paper lanterns at the table . It is absolutely spotlessly clean

Must try dishes:

buffalo cheeks with white cabbage

the Lao-style appetizers

the salmon with home made pasta

the New Zealand wines

My daughter and I had the pleasure to dine at the Balcony in Luang Prabang last evening. Wow, what a professional team and a top class experience we had. From the moment we were picked up by the LANITH staff who arrived at our hotel promptly to transport us in the special open sided tuk tuk to the warm welcome we received at the restaurant itself we were made to feel very special indeed. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with simple, yet creative touches like blue glasses, blue lighting at the bar and blue paper lanterns at the table - it was absolutely spotlessly clean. We selected a table for two on the balcony and my daughter loved looking at the baby geckos scampering around on the inside of the paper latern overhead. Our food was delicious and the service and attention was second to none. Best dinning experience I've had in SE Asia. Thumbs up for LANITH!
