Why Taiyaki Hiiragi is special ?
Taiyaki is an authentic and very distinct Japanese fish-shaped dessert. The most common filling is red bean paste that is made from sweetened azuki beans. Hiiragi is a small shop located in Ebisu that has Taiyaki with a subtle level of sweetness.
If you eat it right when it’s freshly made, it’s perfectly crisp on the outside and the combination of the hot redbean filling with the cake surrounding it tastes so good. But remember that the key is to eat it when it’s freshly made since it’s crucial to have the beans be hot on the inside. Give it a try and you will have a great experience to remember.

Tips for you
This is one of the best places that I've had taiyaki. Sometimes there is a line but they're pretty quick. Get taiyaki with soft serve Visited September 2015
aiyaki Hiiragi is easy to find and a super short walk from the Ebisu station. We smelled it before we saw it and the scents of freshly made taiyaki were impossible to resist. Couldn't read the Japanese menu at all, but the two main options seem to be taiyaki and taiyaki with vanilla ice cream. Not wanting to ruin dinner, I opted for just one taiyaki, though I bet it would have been awesome with ice cream. Anyway, the taiyaki is delicious and HOT. Seriously....let it cool for awhile. Since eating on the street isn't really done in Japan, there are two benches out front so you can enjoy your treat. Visited May 2015
