Laos is hot. Being landlocked and far from the sea leaves many wanting for the refreshment of a cool breeze and splash in whatever water they can find. So what can you do when you get all hot and bothered? There are alternatives… Here are some tips to keep in mind when you’ve just got to go swimming in Laos.
Several hotels have swimming pools and offer day passes to access their facilities. Refresh yourself in the afternoon heat with a dip in one of Vientiane’s swimming pools. Prices are listed in kip in some places and in dollars at others, but can be paid in either currency. Towels are included.
What to explore at Swimming pools at Don Chan Palace?
Don Chan Palace, with its spacious open-air pool (and gym) on the third floor, looking over the Mekong River. It offers both sun and shade on the poolside terrace, and a mostly shaded pool suitable for laps or relaxation. Access to the pool is $10 per day, and for $15 guests can use the gym and sauna as well.
