Why Song Fa Bak Kut Teh is special ?
Bak kut teh soup: Like most of its counterparts in Singapore, Song Fa presents Teochew-style bak kut teh soup to its diners. But the peppery level is mild so it might be just nice for Western palates.
Side dishes: Nuts and greens are offered as side dishes to balance your meal. Most of the vegetable dishes are prepared in the way that vegetables are blanched and tossed with sesame oil, soy sauce and diced garlic.
Tea: Song Fa Bak Kut Teh offers a selection of Chinese Tea from Pek Sin Choon. Order a pot of tea to complement your bak kut teh and experience a bit of the Chinese old days practice in a bak kut teh place by boiling the water yourself to refill your tea pot.
Must try dishes:
1) Pork Rib Soup ($5)
2) Pig's Kidney/Liver Soup ($5)
3) Fried Yu Tiao ($1)
4) A Plate of Xiao Bai Cai ($5)
5) A pot of tea ($1)
6/ Bak Kut Teh
Don't forget the "You Tiao" when you order your Bah Kuh Teh. Otherwise your experience won't be complete. Also check-out their Braised pig trotter and steamed kailan
The meat is soft & tender, not so fatty. The soup must drink while its hot. The soup is also not too spicy and pepper can be added if you liked.

Reviews
The meat and the soup is really delicious, its also combine with salt vegetables....really yummy, but we should queue especially on the lunch time.
Been coming here to have Bak kut teh for years now!! Loving the peppery taste of the soup! Queue can be long at certain times as its that good, but the open till late so supper time is also the best place to head to! :)
Compared to several other Bak Kut Teh in Singapore, Song fa can only be considered as average. A group of us went there at 1:30pm, and waited in the queue for 40 minutes. Despite the big crowd, most of them were tourists from mainland China. The soup was not tasty, and the pig liver was too thin and overcooked.
One of the best Bak Kut Teh shops in Singapore. Tasty ribs with great soup will attract you to come once again. Set meal is the best to complete meal (rice, soup, ribs, fried veggie). Price is about the same with other Bak Kut Teh shops. Worth for money. But this shop is almost every time crowded especially in the afternoon. Should try once if you love ribs.
Wonder why it is called Bak Kut Teh? Anyway, I liked this dish and the soup and Bak kut is very important. The Bak Kut of this store is kinda nice. The meat is soft & tender, not so fatty. The soup must drink while its hot. The soup is also not too spicy and pepper can be added if you liked. But I like the orginal taste. When served, the soup is not hot so it does not taste tat good. But when they refill the soup, it is so much nicer. The Pig's Kidney/Liver is average. The Yu Tiao seem to be cannot make it. Normally I like to put it into the soup and then eat. The Yu Tiao seem too soft and hard. I think it can be improved. Its my first time trying the pot of tea after eating Bak Kut Teh. Somehow it just blends in and complete the whole meal. Should give it a try! Food is served quite fast. There are quite a no of waiters around to serve ur needs. And soup is refill when asked or when they see that your soup needs to be refill. 1) Pork Rib Soup ($5) 2) Pig's Kidney/Liver Soup ($5) 3) Fried Yu Tiao ($1) 4) A Plate of Xiao Bai Cai ($5) 5) A pot of tea ($1) Must Tries Bak Kut Teh Recommended for Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Large Groups/Gathering, After Work, Vibrant/Noisy
There is always a queue for this place, and now I know why. The service is super quick considering the number of tables and I love how they continually come by to refill your bowl with steaming soup. We had the jumbo ribs ($8) with the braised trotters, intestines and salted veg. The soup is the clear and peppery type and the ribs where pretty tender, went well with the dark sauce! Though not a bak kut teh fan, after this, I may be converted!
