Why Snow Town Yeti is special ?

Snow Town Yeti is a small ski resort on the southern slope of Mount Fuji. It is notable as one of only two ski resorts found on Mount Fuji (the other is Fujiten), and because it is the first snow resort in Japan to open each season (around mid October with man made snow).

It is located on the south side of Mount Fuji and is about a 30 minute drive from the Gotemba IC on the Tomei Expressway (use the Skyline Road 23). From the Susono IC, the journey might slightly quicker. It is about 60 minutes from the Kawaguchiko IC of the Chuo Expressway.

Parking is free weekdays and 1000 yen on weekends and national holidays.

What to explore at Snow Town Yeti?

The resort has two lifts and four runs. Its two main runs are each about 1000 meters long and well suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders. The shorter (500 meter) secondary runs are steeper and narrower and closed during night skiing. The resort also has a small terrain park with jumps and rails, and a separate snow play area for kids, sledding and beginner skiers. Snow canons provide the resort with man made snow when nature does not cooperate, which is not an uncommon occurrence.

How to get to Snow Town Yeti?

By bus

During the ski season infrequent buses to Yeti Snow Resort depart from Gotemba Station (60 minutes, 1360 yen one way, 2 buses/day), Mishima Station (80 minutes, 1600 yen one way, 2 buses/day, operates on weekends and holidays until November 28 and everyday from November 29) and Fuji Station (90 minutes, 1600 yen one way, 1 bus/day on weekends and holidays). Set tickets, which include the round trip by bus and a 1-day lift pass are available for 4300 yen. For an additional 2000 yen, the set includes a 1-day ski or snowboard rental.

By car

Nearby rental car outlets are found around Mishima, Gotemba and Fuji Stations. Snow tires may be required to access Yeti Snow Resort.
