Why Shinsekai is special ?

Shinsekai, as a result of minimal redevelopment after World War II, has become one of Japan's poorest. Despite its negative image and commonly held reputation as Osaka's most dangerous area, Shinsekai boasts a colourful history and unique identity. At the beginning of the 20th century the neighbourhood flourished as a local tourist attraction showcasing the city's modern image. The centrepiece of the neighbourhood was Tsutenkaku Tower (the "tower reaching to heaven").

Experience :- "Very interesting outlook at a supposed one of the most 'dangerous' areas in Japan" My findings from various sources seem to deem this place as one of the dangerous areas in Japan... Personal experience however, seem to be otherwise - I would say it is one of the more interesting places in Osaka. It has some of the most vibrant signboards and good eateries; the different segments of the area also give a very interesting aspect to the area. I would put this as a cross fusion between Kabukicho's vibe and Namba (Dotonbori) Tips/Advice:- 1) Preferred Time of Visiting? At Night when the Signboards shine bright 2) Admission Fee? Park is free to enter and roam about, unless you are visiting the Tsutenkaku Tower. 3) Location : A brief walk from Shin-Imamiya Station. 4) How long to explore : I say ~1 hour to 2 hours max. Wayne’s ratings (As ticked):- i) Must-GO! ii) Recommended ✔✔✔ iii) Nay.. or best go as a filler I would put this as Recommend as the place is easy to access to, and is situated where some of the really good eateries are - so an evening stroll here before settling in for a good Dinner is ideal. All in all, I believe this place is fascinating in it own right by giving you a different perspective of Japan.
