Why Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman is special ?

The Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman was built in stages between 1910 and the 1930s and later moved to the grounds of Badan Warisan Malaysia. It was the house of a local headman and is suitably impressive in design. The house offers visitors a fascinating look back into the traditional way of life of Malaysians, and the story of the house is interesting in its own right.

Since KL is a very modern city and surrounded by many skyscrapers, a visit to something classic and traditional like this is highly appreciated. After spent some time at Craft Complex which is just a short walk from there, I went to Penghulu Abu Seman House and joined the guided tour at 3pm. The guide was very friendly, enthusiastic and had a wide knowledge about the Malay customs and traditions. The weather outside was very hot and went we entered the old house, it was equally hot as well. So, I would recommend others to join the morning tour at 11am. As a foreigner, I love something genuine & rare like this rather than those modern malls that can be found elsewhere in the world.
