Why Pulau Payar Marine Park is special ?
Pulau Payar Marine Park is the only place off the western coast of peninsular Malaysia which has exotic coral reefs and marine life similar to that of the Indian ocean. In marine life, you can see horse-eyed jacks, moray eels, clown fish, two meter long groupers, black-tipped reef sharks, black spotted puffers, barracudas and many other exotic marine species.
Pulau Payar also has the widest range of coral reef species in the whole of Malaysia that includes Tubastrea Micrantha, Semi Precious Antipathes etc. All these reefs serve as breeding ground to many different types of fish and also act as natural barriers to sea erosion that takes place at the coastal lines of the small islands.

What to explore at Pulau Payar Marine Park?
The Pulau Payar Marine Park is a collection of four, emerald-green islands, comprising of Pulau Payar – the largest – Pulau Kaca, Pulau Lembu and Pulau Segantang, spanning across two nautical miles of blue sea. The park is Langkawi’s preferred diving and snorkelling expedition spot; inland is a mass of foliage that is bordered by the teal waters and a curvature of white-sand beach. The two-kilometre-long park’s main draws are the miniature coastline and the diving platform; weather conditions are usually sunny, making it easy to see the tropical undersea action without even having to go snorkelling.
The Pulau Payar Marine Park Excursion is a seven-hour trip that takes you to the marine park so you can spend time with the abundant and colourful tropical marine life. The water is the best amongst Langkawi’s 99 islands for scuba diving and snorkelling. The pleasant white beaches are also the perfect retreat for those who want to escape the more popular white-sand beaches of Pantai Cenang & Pantai Tengah. Besides diving, you can spend your time swimming in the clear warm seas or sunbathing on the secluded virgin sand.

Reviews
Was there drng my working days in langkawi. Had the luck to meet a few friends who were boat owners. Went there to do snorkeling but the best part was doing scuba diving at the coral gardens. The corals were very beautiful and the myriad colours that made up the corals were just breathtaking. The day trip might be a it on the high side but it is worth every penny spent.the fish are so friendly that you can hold tidbits in you fingers and feed them but be aware of the black tip sharks that will appear during feeding time. If you should go there ry not to pass up the opportunity to visit this wonderful place.
There are actually 3 spots where you can opt to do your snorkeling here. Facing the ocean, go to the one on the left as the water's clearer. The middle one is only good for feeding the fishes & sharks
