Why Phnom Penh's Night Market is special ?
The Phnom Penh’s new Night Market on the riverfront is aimed squarely at visitors and tourists, offering a wide and varied selection of Cambodian handicrafts silks, art, curios and souvenirs.
The Phnom Penh Night Market is located in a park near the riverside between Street 106 and 108. During weekdays there is not much to see at the Night Market in site in Phnom Penh because all the stalls are setup only for the opening hours from 5:30pm to 11:00pm. If there is heavy rain the market will not take place.
At the rear of the markets behind the stage is a large eating/picnic style set-up with lots of Khmer food which are consumed on large mats spread out across the ground.

Tips for you
Really cool markets. Friday nights - Sunday.
Thieves targeting tourists here.
Crowded place and make me cant breath. Things selling here not up to standard as well. A lil bit disappointed. :(
Between the central market and this night market, I like the latter more. Its very small but the vendors are more willing to strike a deal fast and swift. I got amazing good deals from them. I went down by 50% and the negotiation were fast and i had my hands full in a short time. Central market can give you complacent sellers who are not even interested in bargaining. Go to the night market earlier at about 5-6PM when its still bright and they are just setting up. They would want to close the first deal smoothly so do your shopping early and they are willing to slash the prices for the first customer. Its bad luck if the first customer walks away, it might mean a bad business night will follow! Do not eat at those stores that sells food and you get to picnic on the mats infront unless yo have an iron stomach. I see them setting up the stores and using filthy water to wash their disposable plate and the food. I cant believe my own eyes. So dont even think about eating !!!!
A very typical night market with great choices food and try to bargain hard.. Price for a fridge magnet can be as low as 50cents if you buy 10.
