Why Osaka Station City is special ?

Osaka Station is a major railway station in Osaka's northern city center (Kita) that is served by a large number of local and interregional trains, but not including the shinkansen which stop at Shin-Osaka Station. The formerly dark and cramped station underwent extensive renovation works and was reborn in 2011 as Osaka Station City, one of Japan's most attractive railway stations.

Not sure what the fuss is about. Its a modern mall with a railway station. or visa versa. Good way to kill time though if you are waiting for a train.

This mall is connected to the JR Osaka Station with lots of cafes, fashion stores. The best place to get a quick bite before your train or bus as they usually are quick and easy.

A massive place with an equal number of people crisscrossing. If you are anywhere near a station exit / entrance when a train arrives you can see the swathes of people heading out or in. and you better be going in the same direction, crossing over can be sometimes difficult. I made a bee line to the information counter to find out about this massive building and as usual the Japanese are very very polite and courteous. Was our starting/end point to visit Kobe on the JR line. If you love shopping or trains this is one place you should go to. The best thing about this place is a Belgian waffle stand in one corner (Manneken) if you can spare a few mins, go find it to sample some good waffles.
