Why Nikko Guruman's Wagyu is special ?
Nikko Guruman's Wagyu is a good place for one who likes something in a slightly more refined setting then head on over to the steak house. The establishment prides itself on its home grown black cows which have a rather unique taste and could be compared with Kobe Beef. Guruman has a great range of set menus that start from 5,000 yen up to as much as 25,000 yen depending on the grade of beef. In the set meal you get about 6-7 dishes which include a salad, starter, main course and dessert with choice of coffee or tea. Come and enjoy by yourself!

Tips for you
This is a place worth visiting during your stay in Nikko! Short taxi ride from Nikko station. ( ~1000 yen) Ask your hotel to make a reservation (last order at 7.30 pm). They don't have an English menu and the staff barely speaks English but they really try to help you. You can only have a set course menu: there's a choice between different price levels, reflecting the quality of the meat. ( from 5000 yen to 25000! Yen) We went for a 6000 yen menu and the wagyu was excellent ! ( still wondering what the 25000 yen wagyu would taste like :) ) This is what you can expect: 1) soup 2) roasted beef 3) salad 4) wagyu steak ( choice between sirloin or filet ) 5) fried rice 6) dessert ( pancake with custard) 7) coffee or English tea 8) Japanese tea
