Why Ngoc Son Temple is special ?
An elegant scarlet bridge, known as Huc (Rising Sun) Bridge, constructed in classical Vietnamese style and lined with flags, connects the island to the lakeshore. Surrounded by water and shaded by trees, this small temple is dedicated to General Tran Hung Dao, who defeated the Mongols in the 13th century, La To, the patron saint of physicians, and the scholar Van Xuong. Inside you’ll find some fine ceramics, a gong or two, some ancient bells and a glass case containing a stuffed lake turtle, which is said to have weighed a hefty 250kg.
What to explore at Ngoc Son Temple?
The island and its temple are reached by a red wooden bridge called The Huc, which translates to "Flood of Morning Sunlight". Either end of the bridge is guarded by large stone gateways with Chinese characters written on them.
The temple consists of a main building housing the altars as well as some shops, along with a pavilion in front of the altars. A large bronze brazier sits in front of the main hall, holding burning incense sticks. Inside is the first of two altars. On it sit the two scholars along with several other deities. Behind this altar is the high altar dedicated to the hero Tran Hung Dao. In a room off to the side of the front altar is a preserved specimen of the lake's giant tortoise

Reviews
A romantic half bridge leading to the temple provides the best picture-perfect background to Hoan Kiem.
A very romantic place to ask your girl to marry you! (Considered as the most romantic thing to do in Vietnam) so it Will be a definitely YES! ;-)
Se accede a la isla a través de un precioso puente, con barandillas de color rojo, que es, probablemente, lo más destacable del lugar. El puente se llama The Huc (Sol naciente)
To see that the Vietnamese people's devotion to the past survives all outside influences is wonderful
It is worth a trip across the little red bridge and paying the 20,000VND to have a quick look at the Ngoc Son Temple, even if it is just to see the giant turtle that used to live in the lake. There is still meant to be one alive in the lake, it brings luck to all those that spot it.
We walked a lot in the old quarter of the city. There is no reason not to admire the old temple.
We were the first tourist to enter the gates, inside the grounds the views of the city is beautiful. Besides the interesting history of the turtle and magic sword, it's a quiet place to escape the hustle of Hanoi. So peace peaceful and serene, with the fragrant incense inducing calm.
