Nanda Restaurant is a short way along the road to Nyaung U, offering good food in congenial surroundings. The Nanda is also well know for the good puppet show. Nandar Restaurant contributes to the night life in Bagan by providing a different kind of entertainment. Those who are fortunate enough to go to the ancient city can catch traditional puppet shows here. Aside from the shows, patrons also get to enjoy good food and nice surroundings.
The restaurant offers great Burmese selections to choose from but also off Thai and other dishes. Numerous soups, vegetable and meat dishes as well as salads. Good selection for drinks, fresh juices and tea. Also, they have some of the coldest beer (Myanmar or Tiger) in town. This is a big deal as no one wants a warm lager.

Reviews
Good & entertaining puppet show, included in a price of a dinner. I had no reservation but because I was alone I got lucky with a table which was located in the very front of the restaurant.Puppeteers and musicians were very talented and I liked that the curtain was raised at times during the show that audience could really appreciate how skilled the puppeteers were.Food itself was just ok, nothing special but the show is a must if in Bagan.
You know what to expect when you see a large dining area, and tables full of tourists, but that doesn't mean it's all bad.Our tour guide had managed to secure a table for our group quite near the stage so we had a good view of the puppets. That show is really good with great skill and dexterity shown by the puppeteers. You will probably not be able to follow the story but that really doesn't matter. You are there to see colourful puppets being skilfully controlled to a backdrop of accompanying music from the live band. You should really try to make sure you are not consigned to one of the back tables. The food comes in a series of compartments on an individual tray. There is enough variety for everyone and, although clearly designed to please Western palates, was tasty and well cooked. I thought the service was perfectly OK so that you were not rushed and that the drinks were not excessively priced. You get exactly what you expect from this slick tourist based business but I thought it was still good.
The puppet show is reasonable, but the prices they charge for the food – are not. It's what we rate as "tourist trap". If you feel you must see the show, order as little as a cup of tea or a bottle of beer. That will allow you to sit and watch the show. The length of the show is about half an hour. Not bad but nothing to write home about.
The restaurant is beautiful and puppet show also perfect. This restaurant must be call for reserve in advance and puppet show included and the show start at 1900 hrs. Better table for enjoy eating and show in the same time must be in front of the stage.
