Why Nam at Bon Ton is special ?

The menu features exotic fusion of western and eastern gourmet dishes with Asian spices. Legendary is the Nyonya Platter with nine dishes combining Malay and Chinese cuisine relating back to the Spice Trade Era. Served on a banana leaf, the fish in tamarind, beef with peanuts, prawns in pandan leaf, pickled lamb curry, ladies finger sambal, chicken with lime leaf, pineapple acar, eggplant in a coconut curry and mango & cashew nut rice are beyond delicious. Among other favorites are the Mezze Plate or Mixed Grill. When it comes to desserts, do not miss the steamed apple with macadamia and butterscotch pudding, Gula Melaka ice cream and apple compote.

Some must-try dishes:

The prawn and pineapple curry

The lemon zest

Haloumi salad

Red snapper & mash

How to get to Nam at Bon Ton?

Renting a motorcycle on Langkawi

A motorcycle costs about RM40/45 per day. Gasoline costs a few ringgit for a full tank. Usually we rent a motorcycle for the entire stay; we get on the motorcycle upon arrival, and return the motorcycle upon departure. In this way, you are always mobile, and not dependent on (usually) expensive taxis. With the motorcycle you can easily explore the small villages in the inlands of Langkawi. You stop every now and then for a fast drink or to take some photos. We rented our motorcycle at the main entrance of the Mutiara Burau Bay resort. You will usually not receive a helmet by default. For your own safety you will have to ask for this specifically. Accidents can always happen and wearing a helmet is an obligation when you want to get reimbursed by your insurer after a (small) accident. Besides, the island is not the best place to get proper medical aid when it comes to head injuries.

Gorgeous location, lovely atmosphere, delicious food and very friendly and happy staff. We all enjoyed the local tasting plate which was delicious followed by a great selection of desserts and boozy coffee. We went back for the desserts and coffees after having our main meal at The Cliff Restaurant. Would loved to have stayed at their hotel but they didn't have availability.

Outstanding food and great atmosphere and - best of all - part of the money is used for running a local animal shelter and clinic for stray cats and dogs!
