Muong Hum which is located 35km from Y Ty border. The market is open only on Sunday. Many ethnic minority come to the market to sell their homemade products including vegetables, fruits and also domestic animal.


This market has preserved nearly intact its life – style, imbued with culture tradition. It is here at this market place where you can see and meet the most diversity of ethnic minority peoples living in Lao Cai Province: The four H'mong sub groups: Black, Flower, Red and Blue; Red Zao, Black Zao, Zao Tuyen; Ha Nhi; Zay; Nung...You will realize easily women from many different groups by watching at traditional costumes they wear.

The Muong Hum market is about 45 km from north-western Lao Cai Town, passing over the complex of Muong Vi caves and grottoes and Xeo village. This market has preserved nearly intact its life – style, imbued with culture tradition. Muong Hum market convenes on every Sunday is a place where local people meet and communicate. we're so surprised because of their culture and customs. i think This is peaceful mountainous area has in itself numerous traditional cultural features that are well reflected in festivals. we bought some clothes and jewelry . it's a good experience
