Why Mandarin Cafe is special ?
Mandarin Café, Hue falls in the bunch of 'whole in the wall' restaurants that dot the city. The Mandarin Cafe comes with high recommendation in Lonely Planet and once you taste the food there, you will understand why. Mandarin cafe is not only famous for many Vietnamese traditional food but also for the Western food. The fruit shake with many kinds of tropical fruit or the Banh Khoai is so wonderful. Once you like any dish, you can easily get the recipe from the cook-Mr.Chu's wife. Eating is also an important part of travelling. When you come to Mandarin cafe, try using chopstick and eat like Vietnamese people eat. Is it so interesting!

Tips for you
I waited years to finally eat at the Mandarin Cafe with Mr. Cu and his family, and they did not disappoint. Its been the favorite spot for my colleagues since it opened. It has a fairly even mixture of Western and Vietnamese choices and all are very good. Prices are very good, the atmosphere is very welcoming. Mr. Cu and his family are extremely welcoming and nice to talk to, both about daily life in Hue and any questions about traveling. Mr. Cu's photos decorate both floors of this cafe and are very moving and beautiful--they give a good insight into the spirit of Hue. They are available for purchase and make wonderful gifts or just a reminder of the beauty of Vietnam. This cafe is a good refuge when traveling becomes exhausting: spending time at the Mandarin Cafe felt like being home with good friends. Make sure to order the banana pancakes for dessert!
Great place to eat. The food is amazing, the staff is great and the owner is passionate about photography and is happy to show you his photos.
