Why Manchinro Honten is special ?

Manchinro is a long-established purveyor of traditional Cantonese cuisine. Located in the heart of Chinatown, and a leisurely ten-minute walk from Ishikawa-cho Station, Manchinro is one of the oldest and most popular Cantonese restaurants in Yokohama. The interior can best be described as traditional Chinese decor. There are large round tables for communal dining. Painted silk screens divide the room. The sweet and sour dishes are legendary, as are the seafood entrees. As with all of Chinatown's best dining spots, Manchinro's prices reflect the superb quality of both its food and service. The lunch menu is a bit more mercifully priced and boasts an incredible selection of dim sum. Also on hand is a large selection of Chinese beers, as well as Japanese beers.

Some must-try dishes:

Ootori Appetizer

Pork Siew Mai

Leek Har Gow

Fried Rice

Almond Bean Curd

I was here with friends again. Our friend from Hong Kong recommends it since it is one of few that has a dim sum chef.. Not all frozen items -// brought in from China as many in Chinatown use. We don't order a course..but individual items. We stop by casually, not looking to over eat, so more of a light meal --- and we can get out for a little over 2,000 yen each with other drinks. For bigger appetites, add more, but you don't need to spend a fortune. If you have a group you may get a private room at times...and of course drinks will up the cost. Ordering the most expensive items will, likewise, increase the cost, but that is your choice. We had a young lady waiting our table this time, and she was very properly polite and took good care of us. This place is known for dim sum (all day/night) which we like..even if dim sum is not traditionally served at night. On the first floor they often have some live music .. traditional Chinese..or the other evening, a pianist. We will keep going back.
