Reviews
I cannot thank Eddie and Hien enough for organising such a wonderful stay in their Buffalo house in Ta Van village outside Sapa. Their family and business was incredibly welcoming. It was so refreshing to get into the real rural side of Vietnam and meet the local village people. Eddie was extremely supportive in the lead up to our trip, booked us the whole buffalo house (for 4 people) and gave plenty of excellent advice (like catch the sapa express bus, it's way better than a sleeper train). His bar had fantastic drinks (hot toddies, mulled wine, and dutch hot chocolate), delicious food for all meals, and a was the social centre of the village. He organised a wonderful Hmong guide (Ann) to pick us up from Sapa for a 15km trek to his place. She took us on another half day trek up the mountain on the second day, and then I went on a solo adventure to find her village where she was also very welcoming. Overall an incredibly intimate and authentic experience. Off the beaten track and not too touristy. We loved it so much we wanted to stay an extra night, and Eddie and Hien were very accommodating, and even helped wherever they could with making sure we still made it back to Hanoi when we needed to. Thanks so much guys, it was wonderful to meet your family. I'll be telling all my friends, and will hopefully be back one day for more!
