Awesome place to visit with friends! Went on a friday after 5pm (extra discounts for tourists when we visited) and the Q was short for all rides. LOVED the half pipe ride the most!

While I wouldn't put a whole day of joyopolis on my "must do in Tokyo" list, it is a rather fun and entertaining place to take the kids on those rainy vacation days. I found it to be distinctly modern japanese experience. When we visited tourists were in the minority. Day entrance is the most economically friendly (versus buying individual tickets) and allows you to come and go freely. There are plenty of the carnival "win a prize" type games so be prepared to shell out a few yen. Video games are extra as well. They have a few neat ones which you might want to try out. There is plenty of dining in the mall area so I'm not quite certain why anyone would eat the limited fare offered at joypolis itself but food is offered. Take note... Rides are by age/size and little ones might not be able to go on several of the rides/games. English is hit or miss. One of he 4D movies was in Japanese only (no biggie, the movie was still good). There was also a shooting game that was only in Japanese which was a bit beyond our comprehension (the 3 year old just ran around and shot everyone anyways).
