Why Inpeng Ethnic Culture Park is special ?
The National Ethnic Cultural Park (NECP) has been transformed and is now called “Inpeng Culture & Entertainment Park” which includes a large water park with beer gardens, restaurants, cafes, souvenir stores and a museum as well as the former Ethnic Cultural Park.
J&C team spent a fun day at the new water park, which includes many different pools, all of them with different sizes & shapes, and also different depths; there are also pools dedicated to infants. A big hit with the younger crowd are the many colorful water chutes.
NECP is under a 50-year grant from the private company Inpeng Group. Before the grant, the area was deserted after some years ago several people were killed in a tragic boat racing festival accident at the park’s riverfront. Since then, the boat festival was cut short, leaving the park deserted.

What to explore at Inpeng Ethnic Culture Park?
All the pools are surrounded by restaurants, allowing visitors to enjoy food and drinks while watching over their kids. The prices are very reasonable, offering mostly Lao food, but also some international dishes. The entrance into the park is free, for those who want to use the pools the fee is Kip 15’000 for kids and Kip 30’000 for adults.
The water park is still undergoing construction, so not all of the venues are yet accessible, but nevertheless we enjoyed a great day at the new park.
