Tips for you
We recently spent three weeks exploring all that Vietnam has to offer from south to north. Our last port of call was Hanoi (with a sneaky side trip to Ha Long in there). By this stage we had eaten our fill of street food and decided we would like to find somewhere for dinner a bit more upmarket and so it was that hubby stumbled upon Home here on TripAdvisor. What a wonderfully fabulous stumble that was. We rang and booked for dinner - after a quick cab ride from our hotel, we found ourselves passing through the gates and being greeted truly like we were Home. We had a table out in the very pleasant courtyard and quickly had water and menu's in front of us. We chose a number of dishes including pork belly fresh spring rolls, deep fried crab rolls, jellyfish salad (a first for me and surprisingly delicious), braised chicken with mushrooms and a fish dish. All dishes were superb - although we felt the fish was overcooked, so this was removed from our bill. We also enjoyed a number of cocktails. Throughout the whole evening the service was simply perfect and whilst not cheap by Vietnamese standards, we felt the price was well worth it for both the surroundings (this is fine dining) and the food. We enjoyed it so much, that on our return from Halong Bay a few nights later, we took our new found friends from the cruise back there for dinner. Once again the meal was simply delicious and our friends were so impressed with our choice of restaurant. We had similar dishes but added a chicken and gingseng soup and this time had the grilled lang fish - which was divine. So highly recommend this restaurant if you want something a little special. You really will walk away feeling like you have been at home!
