Tips for you

  • At first look it's a museum and gem store but tucked away in the back is a quiet, cool, and comfortable bar in a very natural setting.
  • The jewellery for sale is really unique, high quality, and fairly priced for what you are getting.
  • It's a great place for people watching while listening to funky music.

When you first walk into this place it looks like a gemstone jewelry shop but out back is the real GEM:) Very relaxing, beautiful outside seating area with hanging plants & a gem stone water feature. We visited 2 or 3 times for an ice cold Larue (local beer) & had complimentary salty peanuts which was great after walking round town all day. Its quiet too as not many people are aware of this place...unless you come o0n here!

One of the highlights of every trip to Hoi An is always a visit to GAM. In the gemstone museum I was surprised to learn of how many gems are mined in Vietnam. Upstairs, you can view the owner's impressive collection of carved gemstone sculptures (for a fee).. or do as I do.. and head straight to the showcases to see what fabulous new jewels his daughter and talented jewellery designer has dreamt up for her brand 'Duong'. Prices for jewellery range between USD $30-6000.

The gallery and bar were beautiful, contemporary spaces. We loved the information and specimens on the gemstones of Vietnam. We also enjoyed several cocktails. Pricing was comparable to US, which is expensive compared to Vietnam.
