“ITS DEFINATELY WORTH IT !!!!!” This well spaced, attractive and buzzy restaurant in Da'an District, Taipei is surely where you will get the Best Indian Cuisine in town. My family and I visited this place in October 2013 and enjoyed there thoroughly. Even before entering the place, I was outside in those corridors of the market and I just passed the place and my eye hit the truck inside the restaurant and when I peeped in I realised that this place was a peppy Indian restaurant and by just looking at the decor my family and I had made up our mind where we would be eating lunch that day. On entering, we were all greeted by the warmth of the waitress who seated us with pleasure. On knowing that the owners were two Indians settled in Taipei, we got even more excited and were anticipating the food which around us was looking exquisite. On suggestions from the waitress, we ordered murg ajwani tikka, fish pudhani tikka, butter chicken (my personal favourite), palak paneer (very soft), dal kabila (yellow dal) and finally some mutton rogan josh (must try) and to go with it some garlic naan and steamed rice. That was a hell of a order, but we were also eight people, so we were rather used to these big, Indian orders. The ambience leaves you amazed and you just cant sit there without looking around the place. The one thing that stands out in the whole restaurant is the bar on a truck with a traditional Punjabi on top of it.That was the reason we were in the restaurant in the first place and my dad and uncle couldnt resist it and quickly moved to the bar for a small drink till our big, fat Indian order arrived. The walls were like that of any Indian eatery and had traditional, Indian instruments surrounded by bordered, colourful bangles. These two things really made this place stand out !!! In a quick 20 minutes our whole order was on our table and it was looking deliciously good !!!! We digged into the food and just couldnt stop eating and appreciating it. We had wisely asked them to bring the starters along with our main course, both the chicken and fish tikkas were very tender and flavourful and had been the right choice. Moving onto the main course : I had become a fan of the butter chicken, the rich tomato gravy was just delicious in your mouth with the crisp garlic naan. The mutton rogan josh was mildly spicy and tasted great with hot steamed rice (popular favourite of the customers.) The palak paneer was so soft it just melted in my mouth with the rich spinach gravy. Dal and rice is a classic and it didnt dissapoint, yellow pulses cooked with spices and cream and garnished with a lot of fresh coriander, cant beat a classic even if not at home. We had not eaten a meal just, we had consumed a royal, delicious, Indian feast. By the time we had finished our lavish meal, one of the owners arrived and was glad to see his fellow Indians there and was really thankful on hearing that we had just adored the food. He suggested us some desserts which were also a hit on the menu. So we asked for paan kulfi and brownie with ice cream. They literally came in no time and in my opinion the hero of the day was the paan flavoured kulfi, i hadnt had that kind of a kulfi anywhere in my life, it was just amazing !!!!!! When we were about to leave, we learnt that the we had missed the Punjabi Samosa so we on request from the owner got some packed. Hot and crisp on the outside and soft fillings of potatoes and chicken keema inside. What a combination. They too were a treat like rest of the food with our evening tea. In all........mouth watering food Outstanding decor, friendly and warm staff and economical for the locals. A wonderful experience havin lunch there with my family. I truly believe this was the Best Indian Food in Taipei and will be back for more scrumptious and fantastic food here at Fusion Asia !!!!!
