Why Chee Kei is special ?

People come here from all over the world for their shrimp wontons. The menu is simple: shrimp wontons with noodles or just soup. You can also get pork and thousand-year-old egg congee and beef brisket over rice. Try the set menu of wonton noodle soup and red bean with a sweet tofu dessert called “red-white.” The shrimp wonton is very good a thin silky skin. The broth is sweet and light with a slight onion flavor - perfect if you have a stuffed-up nose or need a little soul-warming.
And the best part is the dessert. The red bean soup with tapioca balls and sweet tofu really worked well to balance the salty main. It might sound a bit heavy but it's well worth saving a bit of room. Even though this place is eat and go, the staff thankfully don't stare you down if you linger a bit, but know that the hungry people in line outside will.

Let me be honest - the reason we went into this restaurant was because we walked out of Macau Restaurant across the street. When I went in the lady in the cashier was all smiles. This restaurant has an all female staff (if there was a male staff member, I did not notice) She asked how many we were and then another lady led us to our table. We were given english menus (because I asked for it) and then the server assigned to us was a sweet elderly lady. I spoke to her in (the little) Mandarin (that I knew) and she was very helpful and smiling. I ordered a wanton noodle dish for my daughter, a congee for my husband and a rice topping for myself. Our orders arrived promptly and we devoured them (as we were very hungry and it was nearing 10PM). They were all very good. My daughter loved the wanton, the noodles and the soup! The congee was so smooth and powerful. My chicken was also good, I wish though that it had more meat. My husband was still hungry and so we asked the friendly lady server to recommend a beef dish. She said that this dish she ordered for us is good it had lotus root and radish and tendon. It arrived shorty after we asked for her help. The aroma was wonderful - the taste was even more wonderful. The beef was so soft and the flavor was perfect! The sauce of this beef dish, I put on Kailee's noodle soup and it instantly became a beef brisket soup! WOW. The food is good. The service is wonderful. I would come back again on my next visit. I hope that the staff remain the same. Customer Service is very much alive in this restaurant. They appreciate simple thank you's and go the extra mile to help tourists. GREAT EXPERIENCE. They close at 11pm They open at 9am on weekends and 11am on weekdays Visited January 2015
