Why Calypso Ladyboy Show is special ?
An explosion of lights, sounds and pouts, the famous Calypso Ladyboy Cabaret is a breathless blend of incredible sets, glittering costumes and thrilling musical acts. Despite what you have seen or heard about Thai ladyboys, these performers are good at what they do best: looking and acting just like the real thing. You will be left dazzled by the show and quite possibly smitten with the many gender-straddling performers. Meet 'Marilyn Monroe', 'Michael Jackson' and Portuguese-Brazilian 1940s starlet 'Carmen Miranda', along with a string of their diva friends. This is an entertaining night out for families, couples and any curious souls expecting to be surprised.
What to explore at Calypso Ladyboy Show?
Calypso Cabaret Show at Asiatique gives you one of the warmest welcomes you can find in the land of smiles and does so in many different languages. Thailand is well known for ladyboys and Calypso showcases them doing what they love the most: dressing up to the nines and miming to Cher. The performers are keen to entertain and put on a good show and the best way to enjoy it is to don your imaginary feather boa and embrace their world of glitz, glamour and over-the-top drama.

Tips for you
This is one-of-a-kind show, and that it's performed entirely by ladyboys make it truly unique. The ambience is fantastic and the performers are well-skilled. We made the booking from the Calypso Cabaret website. Seats were pre-alloted and we got to watch the show from the second row, probably because we had booked it one week in advance. Traveling there by taxi can be a nightmare. Easier way is to take a BTS to Saphan Taksin station, then change over to a shuttle boat that goes to Asiatique. The pier is right adjacent to the BTS station. There were two queues for Asiatique - one was free, and the queue was huge. The other one had tickets of 20 bahts per person, and the queue was much smaller. We took the one with the smaller queue as it's dirt cheap and we were running short of time. After the show, there's ample opportunity to hang around the Asiatique night market, which is open till midnight. It's fun, and worthwhile to make a visit.
