Must try dish
Bun Bo Hue (Hue beef noodle)
Bun bo is a popular Vietnamese soup containing rice vermicelli (bún) and beef. The dish is greatly admired for its balance of spicy, sour, salty and sweet flavors and the predominant flavor is that of lemon grass.
Bun bo usually includes thin slices of marinated and boiled beef shank, chunks of oxtail, and pig's knuckles. It can also include cubes of congealed pig blood, which has a color between dark brown and maroon, and a texture resembling firm tofu.
Bun bo is commonly served with lime wedges, cilantro sprigs, diced green onions, raw sliced onions, chili sauce, thinly sliced banana blossom, red cabbage, mint, basil, perilla, persicaria odorata or Vietnamese coriander (rau ram), saw tooth herb and sometimes mung bean sprouts. Fish sauce and shrimp sauce is added to the soup according to taste.

Reviews
We had taken the train from Da Nang to Hue and on our return from Hue to Da Nang we had about an hour and a half to kill. We weren't terribly hungry but didn't want to stay at the train station for that long of a time period so we stopped at this little corner restaurant. To our surprise the food was actually very decent and the service was pretty good until it was time to pay the bill. I had called them over for the check and they took quite a long time in preparing the bill. Other than that, everything was fine. The food came in large portions, the taste was pretty good and the ambiance was very nice. Great little find on a great corner near the train station about 400 meters away.
Address of our place is 17 Ly Thuong Kiet and some of other reviewers' pics don't look similar but must be same place. Had a great bun Bo hue here (breakfast specialty) with fast and friendly service. Not too spicy but we took care of that with fresh chiles and the erstwhile tuong ot. Had to leave town or would have gone back.
Very little English spoken, the brought us beef Pho and a Steamed pork bun each with the usual herbs and sauces. Food was fantastic and great value; probably some of the best street food Pho we had in Vietnam. Beer was cheap. Don't eat the pate wrapped in the banana leaves on the tables.
