Why Bulabog Beach is special ?

What to explore at Bulabog Beach?
There is a section along the Bulabog Beach where you can see locals going through the daily activities of their lives. It's common to see local children playing and swimming when it's low tide, while adults pick edible seashells for their evening meal.
The beach is lined with coconut trees. Several flotsam, including coconut debris, are washed onto this side of the beach. And you can find small fishermen's boats anchored here during habagat season. The southeastern end of it, marked by a rocky formation similar to but bigger than Willy's Rock on White Beach, also serves as repair area for bigger boats that ply the sea lanes to Romblon, Tablas, Sibuyan and other far-off islands.
Windsurfing and kiteboarding mecca
Bulabog Beach usually comes alive during the amihan or northeast monsoon season, which runs from November to March of each year. From being a deserted beach, it becomes a windsurfers' and kiteboarders' haven as the sports enthusiasts skim through Bulabog's waters.
This other side of Boracay has a large lagoon created by a coral reef on the far side, with a shallow water area where novice windsurfers and kiteboarders can practice.
Bulabog Beach has near-perfect conditions coveted by kiteboarders and windsurfers. There's the wide, uniformly shallow, reef-protected lagoon, and there's the trade winds blowing moderately but consistently throughout the northeast monsoon season.
How to get to Bulabog Beach?
To get there, simply go to center of boracay beach and walk through Boracay D’Mall until you reach the road. Turn left and take your first right and just keep walking straight until you reach Bulabog beach or known by locals as “Sport Beach”. To get to the other side of Boracay is only a 10-15 minutes’ walk so it is very easy to get there or just take a tricycle for 8 pesos per person and you will be there in a couple of minutes.

You will find some basic rooms for rent. This is a good area to stay if you want to practice kitesurfing, but it is also a good place to be if you are looking for a quiet place.
Planning to go have a trip to Carabao Island in Romblon. Look for local boatmen going home around 12nn-2pm. Rates depend on your haggling skills. I manage to get 150php/way. I know, you can beat that!
Our accommodation in Boracay overlooked Bulabog beach and I would definitely stay on the otherside of the island if I returned. The beach is beautiful when the sun sets and rises, with the boats and clear water. There is a LOT of rubbish though, Japanese wrappers washed up, dead starfish, coconut shells, rubber and what looked like sewerage. I would not have even dipped my toes in this water at the time we were there. Maybe it gets cleaned up before the high season. The 4 days we were there, watersports were on this side for 2 days, with not enough wind the other days.
Did some helmet diving and island-hopping with my husband here and it was beautiful. Water is warm and clear (when it's not rainy), and the fish and coral are beautiful.I was a little disappointed in some of the garbage/pollution at the bottom when we were snorkelling, so hopefully they develop stricter regulations.
When here to windsurf, problem is that the water in the back beach is rather still and therefore has plenty of sea grass. Great for little critters but not so good for water sport.
