Why Bayon Temple is special ?
What to explore at Bayon Temple?
Bayon has some 50 towers, with four huge carved faces on most of them. Each of the four faces are four metres high and oriented toward the four points of the compass. The faces all have the same strange smile and closed eyes, creating a mysterious and serene countenance, representing an all-knowing state of inner peace, and perhaps a state of Nirvana.
How to get to Bayon Temple?
It's located at the central of Angkor Thom so it's easy for you to get in.

Bayon temple of Angkor Thom, enjoy the enigmatic towers surmounted by faces. Their smile is mystic as is the whole place
For me the best temple and must visit site. Arm your feet with comfy pair if shoes and at least 100SPF.
Кхмеры в 10 веке построили самый большой храмовый комплекс в мире, а они гордятся, что фильм Лара Крофт снимали здесь. :(
A little less well known than it's famous cousin Angkor but well worth the visit. On scale it is much bigger and shows the development of the architecture of the nearby temples.
We were lucky to have a great guide Mr San who had a wealth of knowledge. This is the 'faces' temple and there were many. Just breathtaking.
Make sure you stop and take an Eskimo kiss picture with one of the faces. Shorter visit here than many of the other temples but wouldn't miss this one.
The awesomeness that is Bayon. Such detail and size made this the most impressive temple that we saw while in Siem Reap. All the faces carved following you as you walk through the ruins leaves you in amazement of what the folks achieved so many years ago. Great photo opportunities exist here even with the multitudes of tourists clambering over every inch of the structure. Even if this is not your favourite, its close proximity to so many other temples make it a must see while your here. Access is fairly good for this temple, if you not into climbing steep stairs and walking for miles this one should still be okay to tackle.
