Why Batu Feringghi Night Market is special ?
Jalan Batu Feringghi comes alive every night as vendors set up stalls along it after dusk. Offering everything from fake designer bags to dirt-cheap pirated DVDs and home deco items to souvenirs, Batu Feringghi’s night market is Batu Feringghi’s main tourist attraction - not to be missed when visiting the northern part of Penang. Its reputation is so legendary that some have been known to come here on a regular basis solely for the night market. Best of all, you can still bargain for the best prices.

Reviews
Go to this night market just so you can see for yourself but I promise you, your wasting your time.If you've travelled around Asia then you've been to markets with a little culture; worth your while! This market has fake cheap homemade designer labels!Buy cheap, you buy twice!!There really is nothing worth, purchasing/seeing.(Bric a brac)If you like tack then this is the place for you.Enjoy!
Loved the Night Markets at Batu Ferringhi. We went nearly every second day .Haggle it's fun they love to do it with youYou've got to go
If you are not staying in the area, give it a miss. You really don't need to come here unless you are craving for cheap copy items from China. The things you can buy here are basically the same the world over in many night markets.Certainly there are a few bits and pieces unique to Penang / Malaysia like artwork, batik and t-shirts with 'I love Penang', but apart from that you can get a fake Louis Vuitton bag anywhere!!Prices do seem inflated compared to many other markets in Malaysia. The markets is quite poorly organised in that it is difficult to navigate and I felt truly sorry for the families struggling with strollers. The walkway is narrow and the open drains covered with chip board. It is low on convenience and high on irritation this market. At one point, I just wanted to escape and because it takes over the whole sidewalk, I ended up trotting along the road.Anyway, I had no inclination to buy anything, but I believe there are many good options for hawker style food in the hawker court about 1/2 way up the strip.
it opens around 7-8pm at the location from Golden Sands to Rasa Sayang. very cheap items on sale, until 12-1am where they close down. unimaginable items on sale here. do check out the whole length before intending to buy, as prices may vary greatly for the same thing. recommended items: imitation watch, souvenirs, imitation bags, accessories for ladies, shawls, scarves, pashmina, swimwear, beachwear, CDs, tshirts, hair accessories, pewter items, unique boxes, etc etc etc. whatever you buy, do bargain. unless it is 3 for rm10, or 4 for rm10, or 3 for rm15, then its the cheapest already and the traders will get irritated if you bargain further. hand made shoes are also available as well as cheap cheongsams.
