Why Bar Betta is special ?
Bar Betta is something of an all purpose cafe, bar with a simple selection of mainly western eats to match. The rooftop's great in the warmer months for a glass of wine or a beer and during Hanoi's infamous grey, damp winter, inside, it's perfect for tea and coffee.
Hanoi's cafe scene is rich with decorated spaces but Bar Betta is a standout with its shambolic retro selection across four rooms that includes gramphones, Hollywood prints, old TVs, wireless radios and LP records. Bar Betta is secreted up a set of stairs in a beautiful colonial era Hanoi mansion. It's slightly away from the main Hanoi traveller scene in an area that's home to some of the city's most impressive architecture. It's a very convenient stop before or after a visit to the Fine Arts Museum.

Reviews
The atmosphere was very cozy and comfortable. The background music was great. They have a great deal on beer everyday and the staff are very friendly. The food wasn't amazing... But it was edible.
I like Bar Betta - in fact it is one of my favourite bars for a drink with friends. It is funky, arty, a bit avante garde and a relaxing place to be. Having said that, you would be wise to choose what time and day you go there very carefully. If you don't mind super quiet nights then go anytime but if you're like me and you like others around and more than half full, then go close to 9 pm on a weekend night. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and seem genuinely sorry when you go. The cocktails are very pleasant and although i have only eaten snack type food there such as a Croque Monsieur or toasted baguette, the food is very flavoursome and enjoyable.
