Why Ba Ho Waterfall is special ?
Nha Trang is famous for its interesting nature sites and one of these is the Ba Ho Waterfalls. Situated about 20 kilometers north of Nha Trang and three kilometers from Phu Huu Village, the famous waterfalls consist of a string of three waterfalls beneath a clear, refreshing pool surrounded by thick and dense forest. The scenery is filled with serenity and stillness as you feel immersed in an enchanting place with the numerous butterflies and soothing sound of nature. Get the chance to communicate to nature, breath the freshest air and leave feeling relaxed.
Under the glistening water, tourists can jump from huge rocks down to the cool water. For adventurous people, swimming in the waters isn’t enough. Using a stick and slow careful trek up to the rugged path heading to the peak, tourists can have a beautiful panorama of the three lakes.
What to explore at Ba Ho Waterfall?
Initially it is easy walking beside a stream through the foliage that gets thicker as you go, but then it turns into a scramble over large boulders and only the determined and reasonably fit will make it to the last pool. The trail eventually heads into the rocky stream bed and the real work begins. There are large red arrows to guide you, and the occasionally well-placed cement step to help the climb.
After the first pool you’ll see some metal rungs in the rocks where you have to climb up, and the hike can turn a little precarious for the faint of heart. The waterfalls and pools you’ll see along the way are small but charming, and this place gets a lot less tourists than the more walkable Soui Thien and Yang Bay Waterfalls to the west of Nha Trang. Surrounded by jungle-shrouded cliffs with nothing but nature as your companion is a fun way to accompany your dips into the chilly waters. Sometimes the local ladies will (sometimes by prior arrangement with a giude) will carry up chicken, cold drinks etc that they will cook up for you (very fresh) with delicious soup. You of course pay for this. You will be served lunch by the stream and they do all the hard work whilst you relax in a hammock or sit on the rocks and admire the stream.
How to get to Ba Ho Waterfall?
Ba Ho waterfall and pools located approximately 23 km north of Nha Trang. On the left hand side of the road approximately 23 km North of Nha Trang there is a sign for the waterfalls. You turn into a fairly bumpy track that seems to take you further away from civilization and winds its way through a village with ducks everywhere but keep going and you will get to a parking area.
The road to Ba Ho Waterfall can be a bit dodgy, especially with all the twisted soil paths. A lot of tourists choose to visit the nature spot by hiring a motorcycle from Nha Trang. The road is fine and it is quite a scenic ride, so your eyes won’t be bored during your journey. It usually takes a good one-hour trip from Nha Trang to go to Ba Ho using a motorbike.

Tips for you
The top level is a great challenge to get to and you can complete the walk around the falls as a loop. The testpiece is the high jump/dive into a deep pool at the first tier. There are 3 levels with the top one being a super scary 11m. It takes so long from here to hit the water that you can have quite a conversation with yourself on the way down.Things to do
We hired a bike from our hotel for 5$ and planned to do these waterfalls and the mud baths that day. First we biked to the waterfalls.... really easy to find and really well signposted if you are getting there yourself. We expected to be a little ripped off with the price to enter and having to pay to park our bike (standard vietnam) however this place shocked us as it was only 15000vnd to enter and only 2000vnd to park the motorbike. Once you are in the waterfall area it is great with beautiful scenery ad the climb to the final waterfall is tough but great fun! Would definitely recommend a visit! Definitely go when the weather is going to be nice as the water isnt warm but is great when the temp outside is hot!
