Tips for you
You would be fine to order ALL the items from the short menu. Each dishes come with a different (diluted fish) sauce. Experience the aroma, texture, fragrant that Central Vietnam food has to offer. Go ahead, try them all. Don't expect fast family services if you have a group of 10+ people. Relax and enjoy.
Very authentic. I was the only 'tourist' there. One lovely man has very limited English, so read up on the menu before you go. If you ask they'll do 1/2 portions (if you're travelling solo like me)! Nuoc chanh (fresh lemon juice) balances the saltiness well. Little more expensive than some places I've been - but excellent quality and much more delicate than others I tried. You may need to get a taxi as its a little out of town. The locals tend to get the taxis to wait for them to finish too.
I bloody love this place. It is a must visit every time I come to Hue. They serve the traditional dishes of Hue (Banh Xeo, beo, loc, etc). Always full of flavour, character and I would say, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Hue full stop. By the way, most restaurants in Hue that sell traditional dishes are also good, but this is number one no doubt. A must go when in Hue!
